Wikinut Review

Wikinut is new, but I had a good first impression and though it would be a good idea to just write a post as I go along, discovering this site.

What I want to know about these “paid to write sites” is always the same things :

  1. How do they pay ?
  2. Do they want original content ?
  3. Can you put affiliate links ?

I am not overly concerned with the “do they really pay” part, because if they don’t this will easily be known and I don’t have to do anything really to find that out.

Everything is quite friendly in there and you will find most of the relevant info on the Wikinut does and don’ts on their help pages.

How does Wikinut Pay ?

Wikinut pays you directly, they share 50% of revenue with you. They pay through Paypal once a month.

complete info on their website here :   How and when does Wikinut pay me?

What Content does Wikinut Want ?

The friendly tone in there makes me think you could write about anything really, and I can’t seem to find any writing guidelines… humm… yes here :

Wikinut best practice guide

Wow. I wish every site would make everything clear like that, I am starting to really like them.

I am really happy that they accept articles that you have published elsewhere, that will encourage me to use their site often. More and more article publishing sites want only original articles that have never been published before. That makes my article marketing a little more difficult, because writing original articles for all those sites is not the best use of my time.

If you let me re-publish my work on your site, AND PAY ME – I’m in for sure.

This is copie-pasted from their website :

Ideally, every page on Wikinut would be unique on the web. However, we appreciate that many of our authors may want to upload existing content that they have written and published elsewhere.

So long as you own the copyright to the pages you submit, then you will satisfy our terms of use. However, it will help if you use the same author name and/or photo on Wikinut as elsewhere on the web. Otherwise our moderators may reject your page initially, if they see it elsewhere on the internet published under a different name.

Now, that could be tricky, I don’t really think about my penname when I open accounts, and I wish I would have known that before opening this one…

But hey ! Wikinut actually though about that too : in your profile, you can leave notes to moderators and tell them your other pen names and profiles so you wont be accused of plagiarism. You can even leave notes for modorators for each article when you submit them.

Wikinut and Affiliate Links

short answer : no affiliate links

long answer :

Our moderators are likely to reject your pages if you add links to irrelevant pages, links that include some form of affiliate tracking, or simply if you haven’t correctly used the linking tool.

I Like Wikinut

The whole interface reminds me alot more Hubpages than Squidoo ( I use and love both)  They seem to be very communicative and encourage you at every corner to contact them for anything, so I have a very good feeling right now.

I will write back in a month or so when I seriously play around with it and post my results.
